Tales From the Top Side of the Dirt

So, I was thinking about the last time we were at Old South Pittsburgh Hospital in Tennessee. It was the fall of 2024. There are always claims at every site, and OSPH is no different. One of the things I like to do on an investigation is to try and have a similar experience to these claims. One of the claims there is the shadow hall that is down from the ER entrance. The claim is a large shadow with rush you if you stand at the entrance to the hallway. One of the ladies we were investigating with suggested that me and another friend go with her to the shadow hall and take turns sitting in there by ourselves, with the other 2 watching from the entrance to the hall. I decided to go first. There was a 36-foot trip wire stretched out down the hallway. Within a short time, it started lighting up. Very light at first. But by the time the 3rd person was done it was lighting up the whole strand. All 12 lights at the same time. It never felt malicious or evil. We were able to establish communication using the device. It would light up if the answer was yes and leave alone if the answer was no, We were able to figure out he was a male. I named him buddy. He was very confused and pacing the hallway. Buddy was able to tell us he had some head trauma. At one point I asked him if he wanted a Bible. The whole trip wire again lit up. I went to the Chapel and grabbed one of the old Bible's. I asked if he could tell me which room he wanted in. Buddy responded. So, I stared at the end of the hallway. When I pointed at the 5th room Buddy responded. He wanted it in there, so I put it on the exam table for him. This is a great reminder that not everything that is scary is evil or malicious. Buddy was a real person. He is scared and confused. I felt like we were able to connect with him and bring him some comfort. We should always be cautious and respectful of the sites and spirits there. You just never know what someone is going through. We will be returning on Halloween, and you can bet I will go visit the shadow hall and see if Buddy is still there.

Happy Haunting,

Dane
